South African Idols victor Thapelo Molomo joins Soul of Applause as lead vocalist

Icons SA season 18 champ Thapelo Molomo is currently formally a lead entertainer in the Soul of Commendation gospel bunch.

The gathering presented new individuals on Saturday at their live recording at SunBet Field in Menlyn, Pretoria. Among those were Thapelo and individual Symbols SA star Mmatema Moremi.

“I did a coordinated effort with Soul of Recognition this previous end of the week, May 27. Since I’m a new member of SOP’s family, fans can anticipate many things from me. Before, I was there as a backing vocalist; now, I come as the lead vocalist.

“We are expecting incredible results, we are expecting life span of associations with them. Because we recorded with them, fans can anticipate hearing my music,” he told Sowetan sister publication TshisaLIVE.

This time, I’m a lead singer rather than a backing vocalist, so the experience is truly beautiful. Saying that dreams do come true was a highlight for me by itself. You were at the back when you started, but now you’re at the front.

Because things can change at any time, it motivates many to hang in there and wait for their turn. I don’t think anyone anticipated my current position or the work I’m doing.

Thapelo started working on music in the studio with Kalawa Jazmee Records a week after winning season 18 of Idols South Africa in 2022.

He said at the time that the four-track EP demonstrated his versatility by blending gospel, afro-pop, and amapiano genres. He said that he is currently working on various music projects to express gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support.

“Fans can anticipate so much music from me; I am currently working on exciting projects that definitely do continue to describe me as an artist, and their support would be greatly appreciated. I am currently in the studio working on my projects.

“I’m currently working on my own national tour to express my gratitude to fans for their love and support and to bring music closer to their local provinces.

“I hope that one day I will be able to host a larger live recording for Thapelo Molomo by God’s grace. However, they ought to anticipate more music because I will release singles and EPs to provide them with something to listen to while I work on the tour.
